McCoy Trailer Division, a leader in trailer manufacturing, is now recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work within the design team in Penticton, BC, in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Penticton has the most attractive climate in all of Canada according to the Environment Canada National Survey. Responsibilities
- Producing professional quality drawings to the required company standard.
- Analyzing incoming order specifications & determining project lead times.
- Maintaining technical accuracy and detail in all aspects of completed work.
- Completing conceptual designs along with variations of existing product lines.
- Being responsive and proactive to production and sales requests for support.
- Investigating technical problems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Setting and achieving design project deadlines.
- Assisting with the implementation of new standards aimed at increasing productivity and safety through solid modeling practices, drawing standards, release procedures and regulatory audits.
- Being actively involved as a key member of a cross functional team from concept through to product launch in the new product development process.
- Completing other special projects or tasks assigned from time to time by the Engineering Manager.
Experience / Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a nationally accredited program.
- Completion of, or qualified for, APEGBC accreditation.
- 5+ years of trailer design experience; 10+ years of industry experience preferably in a trailer manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Extensive Pro/Engineer or other solid modeling experience is required together with a strong technical aptitude. Experience of both Pro/Engineer & Inventor would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Lean, Rapid & Profitable new product development principles would be an asset.
- Results oriented and with a strong desire to become world class.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate the values of safety, teamwork, accountability, integrity and service.
